A former journalist, I ventured into PR after roles in news and features for newspapers and magazines.
The experience and contacts book from those newsroom days proved invaluable when launching my own award-winning agency, Lexia Media.
Throughout the last few years, the agency’s creative and conscientious team has handled a wealth of regional and national clients, spanning public and private sector.
Today, I am able to apply the skills and experience honed in agency life, as a trusted consultant who steps in to assist commercial operations of all style and stature.
I have extensive experience in change management (and the execution of this through internal communications), media training, crisis communications, media relations and publications management.
Acting as an interim PR director, troubleshooter, 24-7 hotline press officer, or one-off PR audit strategist, I am passionate about helping clients address their communications tactics and fulfil their wider corporate objectives.
Contact me today and you’ll start to see PR altogether differently. This is not about press releases and an occasional interview. This is about considered reputation management and business development.
This is about coaching you to understand the merits of a critical journey of brand protection and awareness.
I can’t wait to hear from you.
My consultancy approach covers a vast spectrum of service offerings, but some of my more tailored specialisms are listed here:
I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with and for a great breadth of organisations through my PR and journalistic work.
Here’s a few of their comments…..
An outstanding PR & M consultant whose driving, energetic and innovative style together with excellent communication skills have been a major contribution to my business over the past two years of the consultancy. A first class professional who becomes part of the company she provides services to rather than merely consulting to it. I could not recommend her more highly.
CEO, UK-wide charity
I have known Deborah Watson for several years in a professional capacity and I have never failed to be impressed by her constant professionalism. She has an innate ability to adapt to a variety of situations, client needs and conflicting requirements. She brings with her a keen intellect which enables her to understand what is required of differing situations and how to handle a wide cross section of individuals from junior staff to senior stakeholders. All information gathered is treated with respect and confidentiality and she always meets deadlines with work of a high consistent quality. I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any role or work which requires someone with integrity.
Chief Executive Kevin Horne, NWES
PR, marketing and journalism continue to be among the more attractive careers for school-leavers and graduates.
Through running an agency and working in the media field, I’ve often been approached by students and jobhunters looking for mentorship, guidance, tips, training – or
In response to this, I’ve launched Give Back and Guide.
The principle behind this is that I’m giving back some of my experience and time, in honour of the people who’ve guided me in my career.
The approach can be tailored to what the individual requires – be that some regular mentoring, or help in finding placements.
It might even be assisting an inhouse PA or marketing exec to learn more tools of the trade to achieve a greater PR delivery for themselves. I can train in-house or at a suitable location – or via skype or telephone sessions.
Using my extensive contacts book, I’m also able to ‘matchmake’ applicants in various other industries, so look out for my social media feeds on GiveBackNGuide to find out more.
Spread the word among others and contact me to find out more.
